puting flowmasters on

I have a true dual exhaust on my 95 f-150. it has glasspacks. I was wondering if the flowmaster 40 series would make it louder and if i would be happy with the sound of them. I had a dual in dual out cat and no mufflers. It was pretty loud. I took the cat off and put a system that exits in front of the rear tires with glasspacks. It just doesn't sound as loud, especially at idle and cruising speeds. Does anyone Know why. Can it be that there is not as much backpressure as before.

Flowmaster 40 series will be louder, as will 30 series. The reason is glasspacks are just that, fiberglass packed tubes with no baffles or chambers like a Flowmaster. The Flowmaster basically scavenges the exhaust and each pulse "pulls" the next one out like a vaccuum. I am running Flowmaster 30 series on my 86 F-250 HD 351W with no cats and it's really really loud. Do you have the tips exiting in front of the rear wheels on one side or both? How'd you do that considering the gas tank is right above where the tip would be on the drivers side and if any gas spilled on it while you're filling up, BOOM!! I wanted to do that but opted to have both running out the passenger side in front of the rear wheel. Hope this helps!

My truck has the gas tank in the rear where ths spare tire goes. I have duals on each side before the back wheels. I wouldnot spill any gas on the tips because its behind the rear wheel. Thanks for the information.
