gauges

i recently installed my autometer gauges(Boost, pyro, trans temp) on my 2003 f250 with 7.3 but have not hooked them up yet. What are the best locations for the boost and pyro senders? Thanks

Drill & Tap the exhaust manifold for the Pyro. I did the drivers side, from under the truck.
The Boost just tap into the map line on the top of your engine.

I was told by a friend i should remove the manifold to drill and tap for the pyro bc i would "dust" my turbo? is this true? The pyro kit came with an alternate method for mounting in the down pipe, which i'm assuming would give a much lower reading than from the manifold??? thanks

I put mine in the up-pipe -- a bit easier to work with. Most (all?) of the drill filings will fall down & out of the hole, so there's no big worries. I drilled & tapped mine, and let whatever junk made it in the up-pipe blow out of the turbo. It's not a big deal -- pretty much everyone here did it that way.

Here where I put in my pyro:

Joe's got it right. There is no worries about drilling into the up pipes or the manifold. Just use a sharp drill bit and some cutting oil. There is no need to remove anything.

thanks guys. Is there any benefit to taping into the intake "y" manifold vs. using the t connector for hooking the boost up?

It is easier to use a hose barb tybe fitting on the map line. If you did the AIH belete then some tap into there with a threaded reducing bushing.
