that doesnt look too bad, there will always be blow by on these trucks, par for the course. does the truck run ok? you can run a crank case pressure test on it to see if its excessive. you need a guage that measures inches of water and an adapter to thread onto the fill tube hole. i cant recall the size of the hole in the adapter but i can go measure it if you want to run the test and make your own adapter.
The old Swamp Donkey test is dam close to the failed water test.
Just lay the cap over the fill hole. Motor at idle hot will blow the cap
off the oil fill if excessive. If not it will just lay on the oil fill.

Im trying to figure out why my truck still uses so much oil, How ever not as much as before replaced the injector o-rings I just came inside after removing the fuel filter, i check for oil in it but it seems that the oil going to the fuel tank got fixed with the inj o-r replaced, before,i replaced'm it used to use 1.5 gallons of oil for every 40 miles------now with the new inj o/r she run 75 miles and uses only one gallon sh its still alot ---------- any idea what could be causing the oil loss?

Worn cyl, score in bore, worn/broken rings, crack/hole in piston ect.
Its cyl pressure making its way into the crankcase.
You could have an internal oil leak in some injectors.
It will cause oil loss.
Bill
is there a way to do a test to figure out any of the two? like i said before i removed the fuel filter and didn't see any oil at all, and before i replaced the inj o-r it was a mess in it, so if one of the inj has a internal leak would the oil go back into the fuel tank again or not?
A compression test will show condition of the cyl's.
If oil is leaking by the injector piston it will end up
in the cyl and be burnt. The check ball in the injector
should hold the oil from going into the fuel system.
Oil loss can also be from a turbo seal leaking.
Did you check your poppet air gap on the injectors
before doing the o-rings? Do you have access to
a buzz and cyl cont test?

excuse my ignorance on diesel i replaced the o-rings, and I didn't know i had to do any test to the injectors How do you do that test?-------- and no I don't have access to one of those testers I can probably rent one if you think i have to
how is the truck runing right now? missing? smoking like a train? 4 qts of oil in 75 miles shouldnt be hard to trace........
I see hardly any smoke coming out and i dont see any smoke when im driving it makes me wonder why it doesn't smoke and under the truck is dry it doesn't have any big leaks.
truck was running when i took this picture.
it's been running strong i do plowing and she has no problem at all even when we have 8 inches on the ground. she has never smoke more than the trucks that I see around.
well if it aint in the coolant and it isnt going out the tail pipe then it has to be going into the fuel tank? no ily residue in the tail pipe? how about at the exhaust backpressure valve tab where the actuator rod meets the valve itslef. if you are using/losing that much oil in a short time then it should have residue or even a drip coming from the tab
