The Michelin tires get great reviews. I think someone on here said they had over 60k on the tires before they needed to replace them.

I've had 3 sets of Michelin's in the past. Loved all 3 sets (LTX M/S and 2 XCX/APT). I had well over 80k on the LTX M/S and near 70k on the first XCX/APT when I replaced them for a one size larger XCX/APT on my Explorer. Great quiet tire that wears well. They seem to be a little harder compound, and some people complain about the wet weather traction, but honestly I never had a complaint here in VA. They did perform VERY well in the crazy snow we had last winter. I'll probably put a set of LTX AT2s on the SCrew when the time comes (or BFG ATs if the price is right)

I have liked the coopers I have, and my buddies have had the less aggressive coopers as well, and have gotten good miles out of them. They have been happy with the wet/dry/snow condition performance. Plus, they are an american company.

That being said, I have always heard good things about michelin tires if you are willing to pay for them.

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies. Even though the LTX's were more expensive (by $50 per tire) I went ahead with them instead of the BFG's. It helps that Sams Club gave me $80 per tire warranty replacement on my Brigestone AT Revos since they only lasted 27k out of a 50K warranty. Hopefully I can get some good mileage out of these LTX's.

Isaac let us know your thoughts on the LTX's once you get some miles on them. I've always thought that Michelin was worth the price.

Hi guys, glad to be on board! I just bought my first Ford truck a week ago. It's a 2007 F150 Supercrew King Ranch 4X4. I actually bought the truck from North Texas Truck Stop after seeing it on ebay. I was interested in one here locally at a Chevy dealership (yeah, can you believe it?), and I almost bought it, but I was looking around online and found this one. It was the exact same price and almost the exact same truck (different color); however, the one here had 54k miles on it and the one in Texas only had 36k. I figured it was worth the extra hassle to get it delivered for almost 20k miles less! Anyway, I plan to post soon about my experiences with buying a truck on ebay so people in the future can know what to expect.

Here are some photos of the truck when it was still at the dealer. It's all stock and after reading through these forums, I can tell it's going to cost me a lot of money now that the mod bug is starting to hit me. Hell, last week I couldn't have even told you what a leveling kit was, but now I know that I need one really, really, really bad!

Great looking truck Eghead. Keep that leather conditioned well so it won't fade! Welcome to FTE.

Thanks for the advice! The front seats are pretty faded already, so I have been reading on here to see which leather conditioners work best. I decided to purchase some Meguiars leather conditioner, Leather CPR, and KR conditioner to put them all to the official test. I am looking forward to taking some before and after photos and posting the results soon!

You're welcome. I almost bought an indentical truck out here in VA. Same year, color, 20"s, etc, but already had a leveling kit. They weren't willing to negotiate much, and it had 30k more miles than the FX4 I bought. Plus the wife didn't like the copper color. I'm still having a little envy over that truck though. Loved it. But love my FX4 even more. Enjoy!!!

I think you made the right decision...or your wife did, hahaha! I will always like the FX4's. The KR is a slick truck, just not what I need. I certainly don't need/want the 20" rims. Nice work on the pick up though eghead!
