I'm looking for a customn exhaust for my truck. I have a 300 I-6, Cliffy intake, 4bbl Edelbrck carb, 270* cam, coming from a Cliffy single header. I want that deep powerful tone. I hate that bees buzzing sound of riceburners and stuff like that. It also needs to flow well. I want it to sound like a V-8 at idle and have a nice deep tone while I'm gettin on it. How big of tips do I need to get this? What size pipes should I run for duels? Single? What mufflers that flow well do yall reccomend?
If you want V8 sound below 2000 and pretty deep up high, I got 3 words for ya...Flowmaster One Chambers! Mine is stock single outlet manifold with one one chamber and a y pipe. 2.5 inch pipe all the way. If you can run true duals, run dual 2.5 one chambers and about a 12 inch tip.

I'm abtually installing a Flowmaster Force II cat-back on my friend's 93 F150 300/I6 tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it sounds, compared to my GT. The new pipes that come with the system look friggin' great though. All mandrel bent 3" pipe. Hers will be the only F150 that looks like it has a Powerstroke from the exhaust pipe.

LAST EDITED ON 13-Oct-01 AT 01:41 PM (EST)[p]I have dual headers and dual 2.5" pipe going through brand X turbos and found it to be very nice. Does not sound like a six at all. Idles well and cruising speed sound is nice and if I wanna get loud it will do that also, I have heard the flowmaster and I think my setup is deeper. Very happy with this setup.
Just a thought but if I were you I would go with a single 3" pipe off your header and run it through a turbo of your choice. It would keep the torque, flow very well and give you a deep sound, and by going with a single pipe it should give it a very deep sound. Post what you do get done and let us know what ya think, good luck
