Timing Is OFF!!! Help
Hello Gentlemen,
I feel so stupid, I just bought a new long block 429 Thunderjet and am building it to RUN!!!, I bought a VooDoo cam and procomp noisy gears. When I replaced the cam and put the sprockets in I lined up the timing dots and installed it. I have the engine ready to run- I have spark from my mds 6al ignition, blaster 3 coil, billet distributor w/ magnetic pickup. I have 7 psi for fuel coming from my edelbrock fuel pump and edelbrock 750 carb. I lined up the timing at tdc and have tried to fire it..... occasionally it will pop but the exhaust doesn't smell like gas.... WHERE DID I GO WRONG?????

Thanks Bear,
I finally figured it out.... had to pull water pump/ timing cover and every thing to change cam timing. I had it at 8 before instead of at zero. I thank you though. The engine sounds MEAN!!!!!
