99 v8 ranger
hey guys id dont know if anyones posted about this before but ive got a 99 2wd ford ranger with the 2.5 liter and would like to put a 5.0 in it. the problem is that i live in north carolina and i was told that it would never pass inspection. i was thinking i could put farm tags on it and get around it but im not sure so i just want to see if it would be possible or if it would be to much trouble. any ideas will be appreciated.

Like I posted somewhere else: Summitracing catalog has part numbers and descriptions of stuff you need in their center part Q & A pages.
passing smog would depend on how wierd the smog laws are where you live. some states like Mass, if it ain't stock it fails, whereas here in nevada it is just what the tailpipe emissions are.
