Anti-Cat...Help?
Not getting any responses to my question...I understand the legal/ecological ramnifications...still is it taboo to talk about punching out a cat? I'd like to know if it's possible to punch out the rear cat on a 93 F-150 w/302 without taking the whole exhaust system off the truck? Are you able to scrape out the pieces from the back? Will they just blow out? I'm going to use my income tax return money on headers and a high flow cat but would like to see what difference the cat really makes. Where I currently live doesn't have any smog checks other than to make sure a cat is installed, but hope to be moving to metropolitan CO next fall where they do, so ultimately I want to be legal. Just got some time to experiment a little. Any suggestions?

Let's see, what is that ad slogan... Oh yeah, just do it!
An exhaust shop should be able to make bolt up flanges upstream and down stream so you could mount a straight pipe in between, then install the cat when needed. This would also allow you to gain access in order to hog it out.
