Need frame help !!!!!!!!!
I HAVE A 1953 FORD F-100 AND WOULD LIKE TO US A COMPLETE FRAME OF A NEWER TRUCK. IS THERE A CERTAIN MAKE AND MODEL THAT WILL WORK EASIER. THIS IS THE ONLY TRUCK MY GRAND DAD EVER HAD AND HE DIED IN 1968. THE TRUCK WAS IN A BARN FROM AROUND 1975 TILL ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IT EVER SINCE I WAS 15 YEARS OLD AND AT 46, IT NEED TO COME BACK TO LIFE. YOUR HELP WOULD BE HELPFUL. tjones@millenniumpaint.com PLEASE POST AND EMAIL ME WITH INFO.

Since you only have one post so far it indicates two things, you might not have been here before and don't know what kind of fire storm this subject generates. Also, with a posting of less than 25 you can't use the search feature of the site so you can't search for all of the posts that been made on this subject but you can do a Google search using the term "frame" and "swap" and inserting www.ford-trucks.com in the "Search within a site or domain" box. You'll find many posts on the subjects, most will have very strong argument against doing it. The consensus is not to do it, update you stock frame with a front end swap, either a Mustang II or Jaguar.

Welcome to the board Tommy. There have been many attempts at a the frame swap that you are asking about...some have even worked, sort of. IMHO if you want to honor your grand dad and bring his truck back to life then keep what is there and update it as necessary. When you are finished you will have something of value that you (and grand dad) would be proud of. A MII IFS, later model rearend with good gears, power brake upgrade, and new wiring will go a long way to making this truck a reliable smooth operating vehicle.
