We have gotten nailed good here in northern kentucky the last couple of days with snow, ice, snow. What with the hills and curves it was a little hairy in this weather with my Bronco before the diesel swap. But Frankinstine (yes I know it is spelled wrong but since my baby named her that is the way I want it ) acts like a new beast with hardly a slip of the tires, and it seems that it doesn't jerk around as much in the deeper snow . Would the wieght of the 6.9 make this much difference?
I would say it would. More weight over the front tires which are your main point of control. I'm guess bigger axles which also help with weight. but im down in mason county and I've been out driving around no problem. Tires only slip when i made them. This is the first I've really got to try her out. Can definently tell why ppl use fords for plows.
And she'll do some pretty good donuts in 2wd.
that sounds really cool, do you have any pictures of your truck? a friend of mine is thinking about swapping a 7.3 IDI into his jeep cj-7, I like seeing these old diesels in different vehicles.
