as i am about to purchase a pyrometer for my truc im wondering what range i should get.
the one i am looking at comes with a k type thermocouple good to 1300f.
i dont think its enough. even post turbo.

what are the egts that you guys (and gals) are getting pre and post trubo from stock and a dp or similar tune, nothing crazy in the tune just a towing mileage tune.

I can hit 1450 if I want to. Get a gauge that goes to 1500*. My gauge red lines at 1250*. This is Pre turbo.

 

this is the gauge that im looking at, ive asked the company if they sell a type "r" thermo couple. it should be enough. i want to go pre turbo to take the guess work out.

this thing is gonna look sweet in the new panel. other gauges will be normal round style, most likely...

Unless I'm reading that link wrong.....Type K is good to 1300* Celsius


Wiki says Type K is 1350*C max (approx. 2462*F )
