Yes Dayton is partially shut down, Cinci has a level 3 emergency.
We had sleet for a few hours and then the snow. Its snowed all day and night.
The pics dont show how bad it is. The truck is sheilded on the east sid eof my house. The center of the tarp was laying on the cab and I have a center support running long ways to tie the supports together. I could barely ge tmy arms under the tarp forcing them under the weight and work the snow off the tarp. The bed had some 4 ft pieces under the snow I took off in one pice and threw over the fence.
IM pretty much dug out with no where to go. The wifes off work and kids have no school.
The weight pulled the front tarp off I had on the hood.
Well a few ours north of you we had rain from 1:00 am until 6:30 am then snow the rest of the day. My uncle put his car in the ditch at 5:30 am so I had to go get him out. The roads are still not great so my restaurant is pretty slow. I think I am going to close early tonight. No sense in keeping people here with no customers.
We've had steady snow since about 8:30 last night - it's now about 7:00pm- We are somewhere around a foot of fresh snow, drifts up to 3ft or so. Just tied a record as of 5pm for the 7th alltime snowiest winter and Janurary isn't over yet, my Fatherinoutlaw has had over 250" He's about 5 miles south - over the ridge in the snow belts.
Got hit pretty hard in Batavia too.We got 8" snow with about 3/4 " of ice in between.Been cooped up in the house for to days hope too go back to work Thursday.
Oh if only we could get snow , or even a few drops of rain.
We are now on our third day of 43c day of heat with 2 more days of 40+ days to come.
We are also now in about our tenth year of drought conditions, even our native trees are starting to turn their toes up.
I guess I won't "complain" to loudly about our -20 degree temp's this morning!......at least the sun's shining and we do have a heated garage.....although It's getting real old allready, having to dress up like a eskimo, just to try to keep from freezin to death!!
It's one of the biggest reasons, were moving back to so. colorado later this year!
We have had a few days of above 32 degrees weather and most of the snow on the driveways and cars is gone. Its going to drop back in the teens in the next few nights.
IM ready to start work but not until the weather is cleared.
I have a cold from shoveling snow as it is. I dont mess with working on anything uness its a small project in the garage.
I have some parts waiting on me to pick up but I dont feel like climbing snow banks to put them away.
