Let there be light!

Well for some reason ive had lighting in my system. I just ordered my HID conversion kit and ill be ordering my crystal clear headlights next. I want to have LED lights for the rest. I see there are 4 holes for Light bulbs in the headlights. I have 9007 for headlight (HIDs), 916 for parking light(bulb next to headlight??). 3157 for blinkers. So im missing one. Is the bulb next to the blinker also a 3157 blinker? Will it be ok to run super white LEDs in everything but turn signals? Ill guess I have to have amber LEDs for turn signals. Will my blinkers work fine with LEDs? Or will I need a different turn signal flasher? Also I want to do LED interior lights. Is it 105 for map light and is "map light" the middle light or the side ones you have to turn on manually? Thanks

Just went outside and checked and the 2 side lights are the parking lights. and just the 1 long bottom one is the blinker. so I will need 4 916 parking light bulbs to do both headlights?

So I need
4 916 bulbs in super white (parking lights)
2 3157 bulbs in amber (turn signals)

I checked out the map light and the cover is restricting ALOT of light. I took it off for now and its amazingly bright with it off. I dont want to keep it off though because it looks bad. Is there any way I can get a clear one like on my 86?

Just out of curriousity, how much do the HID kits cost? I seem to remember them being insanely expensive. My dad is interested in getting one of these kits for his '97 F250HD.

FYI, the kits are illegal. IF You get into an accident at night, be prepared, there might be problems.

The LED signals wont work with out an electronic flasher.

Stay around 6k on the temp range on your HIDs and you should be fine. The cops shouldn't give you a rash either. If you get up in the +10 rang where it chanes colors to blue you will get bothered about them.

Anything over 4500 K is actually lowering usable light output. Can You say RICE?

Personally, I wouldn't use anything that wasn't used by an OEM manufacturer. And I wouldn't use them in any stock housing. They're intended to be used in a projector housing. Where the light can be aimed properly

Agreed. If you've ever been blinded by someone with an aftermarket kit in non-projector headlamps, you understand what Fone is on about.

I've got far enough out of my way to report some ricers to IDOT...I can't afford to be blinded when I'm going through a forest preserve at midnight.

I went with the 8ks Should be super white with a very small blue tint to it.
I know a guy with a bagged tahoe that has the HIDs and he hasn't had any problems with cops. or people "bright lighting" him.

Ill def take pics of the install and before after results. They should be here on the 30th. Im going to re aim my lights and test them to make sure they don't blind anyone. I wish they made projector headlights for our trucks, I would buy some. They do have them for my 86 though and I was going to do the HIDs on it with the projectors.

I wish people would stop buying these ebay HID kits. I'm tired of having to drive against them on the road. The other day a guy had them on a Dodge and I couldn't see anything until he passed.

It's because they're to damn cheap to do it right.

HID Retrofit Parts Projectors Ballasts D2S Bulbs

there are ways to do it right. But it cost's money.

Blah blah
Back on subject..

Haven't found a flasher for LED lights yet.

Is this right? I want to make sure I get the right ones before I order.
4 916 bulbs in super white (parking lights)
2 3157 bulbs in amber (turn signals)

Thanks
