About a month ago, I had to put me name on a waiting lists to reserve two bottles of 911 at Tractor Supply.

This year it's hard to find in the store's around here.
I haven't even seen it on the shelves here, not that i,ve been looking real hard though. I,ve been luck so far with temps down at night -10 but normally in the teens. Running DK gray i think.

Well this was the very first time my fuel has ever gelled up on me, and it's been a LOT colder then this. No clue why it did it....maybe Karma? Lisa was just telling me yesterday about her problem, and I commented how mine never did that lol. That'll teach me! (nawww)

Kudos to all the peeps! Very cool!

Not sure if you guys have ever talked with John Wood before, but he is INCREDIBLE. He knows these 4R100 transmissions inside & out like nobodys business!
I've been saying it for years, JW is the man.

I know most guys swear by Brian, and it's obviously a deserved rep, but John is truly incredible.

It's too bad a lot of you guys aren't close enough to swing by when Jody does his live tuning at John's shop. John hires a caterer to make all these incredible Mexican dishes for everyone who attends or just drops by to kick back for the day.

In the Lightning world, when a tuner comes out to custom tune trucks, the customer pays the tuner for their work, but also pays the shop owner who's dyno is being used an hourly rate.

Jody told me John doesn't charge a dime for the use of his dyno.

John installed one of his built tranny's in my wife's Excursion back in December of '07. Before I left his shop last Wednesday, he asked if it was about time to change the fluid, completely flushing the system and replacing it with new fluid he likes his customers to use. I told him it was in fact getting close (20K miles), but I told him I'd have to have him send me a case in a couple months because I hadn't budgeted for that extra cost on my trip down to SoCal.

John grabbed a case of the stuff he likes to use in his transmissions, threw it in the back of my truck, and told me to send him a check when I can afford it.

I told John he needs to move to the Central Coast!

Travis, I didn't mean to get on my soapbox for John, hope you don't mind.

Glad you got your rig running and everything is well!

LOL! I knew someone was gonna ask!

I was just out in my garage looking for the case so I would know the answer.

John used to use Lubrication Engineers stuff, then switched to Swepco. Now he's back to Lubrication Engineers.

It's the 1150 stuff. Here's a link. Lubrication Engineers - 1150 TRANS-ALL EHP Automatic Transmission Fluid

Mark there is plenty of 911 here you want me to get you some bottles and mail them to you if the list is too long? I have been running Howes since apparetly diesel clean has been having alot of gelling problems here recently. I am getting Schaeffers here later in the week we'll see how that turns out. Huck you sure you don't want to buy some :-p.

Travis great to hear that FTE could help you out and saved you from 5K of trouble though I am sure you could use that as an excuse to upgrade your tranny . It might be a very good ideal for people to start putting tank heaters on your tanks it won't protect your lines but it will help you out.

LOL! Happy to help. I'm not sure I did much. I'm starting to wonder if "bad" fuel has somehow made its way around the country. Lots of gelling going on.

I am beginning to wonder if they phased in the winter blend quickly enough. You see, I just noticed a drop in mpg for the 99 E300 Turbodiesel. Up to now, I had been getting a certain mileage and on the last tank, it did drop as it did last year but why now? Could it be that the tanks in the ground still had much of the old stuff and they haven't gotten the winter stuff in yet?
