I'll be taking delivery of my 09 Lariat screw in a few days. Should I have the dealer install mud flaps or not? I know they are functional but how do they look? Can't decide and looking for others opinions. Thanks guys.

I had these put on with the bed cover on day 1. I wouldn't be without them.
I cant stand mud flaps and think they ruin the lines of the truck but the rear of mine has some kind of stone chip pad so that you shouldnt have to worry about stone chips. But if you like the look of mud flaps then go for it.
I would say yes if Ford had a factory flap that was a little more flexible. It looks to me that if you do any hard wheelin', they might get ripped off on a rut.

I haven't tore up mine and I go into some nice ruts. I had them on my last two F250's (160K) and never tore them up.
I've never tore my factory flaps off either, and I go off road during hunting season. If you want to keep the bottom of your truck looking nice I'd put the flaps on.

That's cool. I have the factory ABS plastic flaps on my Taurus and when I back into the driveway, I can hear them scrape. I wasn't certain if they would hold up, but that's nice to know for when I get my new rig.
I disagree, I have the soft rubber (actual mud flap) that hang from the frame behind my rear wheels and I think they look nice. They don't stick out the sides or mount like the factory mud guards do.
I do like the look of the molded factory mud guards though.
I just installed the husky liner molded mud guards. IMO they are a must, especially in snowy/slushy climates. I paid $60 for all four and had them on in 1/2 hour. Only had to drill top mounting screw and didn't have to remove tires. They look good, probably even better if painted same color as truck. Without them, I had slush/gravel stuck on rocker panels and all over my running boards. No problems now. Chep add on for keeping the truck looking good.
I put on the Huskys after @ 150,000 m and I love them. One thing I noticed is any truck will look less "undertired" if you add flaps. Not sure why, but it works every time.
