Couple of weeks ago when the temps were around zero and after I'd been driving about 10 minutes, I stoppped at a red light. Truck was running great till then. Light turned green, hit the gas and it started to miss. got thru the intersection and let up on the gas and hit it again, all was well, no miss. Ran great until yesterday, temps near zero again, same thing. Drive about 10 minutes everything is ok, stop at a light, still running ok. Light turns green, hit the gas and it misses. If I nail it to the floor, no miss. Let up on the gas, coast for a bit and then hit the gas and no miss. Borrowed my buddies scanner today, no codes and nothing looked out of the ordinary. Temps 7 deg. today and no misses. My first thoughts were a bad coil, but not knowing which one I don't want to just start throwing parts at it and I don't want to wait untill it gets real bad to fix it. Anybody got any ideas??????
PS> Truck is an '01 V10 with 84K miles. Tuned up Sept. 08 but still original coils.
PSS> My Firebird kind of acted the same way when the MAF went. Might that be the problem? (It was cleaned when I did the tuneup.)
You can get some MAF cleaner and clean the MAF which should be done once a year anyway. How many miles do you have on your current set of spark plugs and boots?
Truck has been running great since the last episode. Will try cleaning the MAF again. Did it last Sept when I tuned up the engine. Less than 10K miles ago. Thanks again guys.
Is the MAF Cleaner a dealer only item or readily available at any auto parts store?
Last can I bought was at Advance Auto Parts and it was CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner. Some guys use different stuff but I'd use either a purpose made cleaner or electrical contact cleaner.

CRC is the same stuff we use before we start any dyno tuning. Its like Step 1 of the tuning process....
