Speaking of which, I just ordered a set of upper anti rattlers that go above the side window not where your arm rest. Has anyone installed these, do I need to remove the door panel so I can slide it down or will it slide down on its on?
I got the whole kit, upper, divider, and bottom. It looks like I'll have to remove the door panels to help it around the window glass. Probly won't be able to push past it.
I had my window glass out when I did this, because I was replacing my regulators at the same time. I don't see how you could do this job with the window still in the channel. The inner channel (the piece between the door glass and the vent window) goes a good ways into the door. The bolt that loosens it is way down low. You have to remove the door panel.
its pretty easy job ; pull door panal remove vent window with the frame .i didn't take out door glass just moved it out of the way.put new cat wiskers in to thats what runs top edge of door.
I did this project a couple months ago. I had the entire door disassembled at the time. I don't know how you would be able to do it without removing some parts. At a minimum I think you'll need to remove the door panel and one of the window guides inside the door to give you enough slack to get the old stuff out and the new stuff in. I had all of my parts completely removed at the time and I'm glad I did. I had to chisel out the old stuff. It was as hard as ABS plastic! The new guides were very easy to install. Since you'll be working with the door still mounted and the window vertical, be careful not to let the window fall! Tempered glass doesn't like to be tapped on the edge! (Assuming it's tempered)
