hey....I am running 2.25 from the stock manifold into a catco high flow cat to a dynomax turbo muffler and it is not much louder than stock. If I cut the muffler off and dumped it in front of the rear wheel, do you think it would sounds ok? Have any of you done this? I am looking for a pretty loud, deep sound, but don't have the cash for too much experimenting.
I would think that would be extremely loud. What if you drop the tail pipe (I assume you are still running the stock tailpipe). If it sounds good that way, then put a short tip out the side in front of the wheel. Also a large tip is supposed to deepen the sound. Wonder if moving the muffler closer to the cat would help? I got my totally stock exhaust pretty loud (complains wife, though not so loud in cab) just by punching ten 1/2" holes in back of stock muffler and wrapping 8" sheet metal shroud around it to crispen/amplify sound.

thanks for the input. I figured it would be pretty loud. I just couldn't believe that the new turbo muffler behind a high flow cat was barely louder than stock....maybe like you said, it's a function of position of the muffler. I guess I'll never really know until I give it a try! thanks
