I'm getting my king pins installed. I need the thread size to buy a tap and chase the threads on the top and bottom of the spindle. This is for the nut that has the grease zerk in the center. Anyone know the exact size of these threads. The powder coaters got a little carried away and covered up more than they should have. This is a 79 spindle if that matters.
all you need to do, if possible, is take the cap that screws onto the spindle and figure out the die size...then get the tap size and clean out the threads...go slow...I have a friend who got some GM F body hood hinges done...with hood on...wouldnt budge...had to twist the hinge enough to break the coating...its super tough stuff...
Take the Nut to Harbor Freight and size up a Tap to it. Pretty sure the large gauge kit has one that fits. I got a tap for the intakes water pipe and that was one of the smaller ones in the kit.
