Well I decided to check the batteries as well and it looks like one for sure is gone. Is this going to casue a problem for the FICM? It does roll over slow.
Here are the codes I pulled P0279,P0264,P0267,P0270.P0273,P0276,P0261,P0282. Do these mean low fuel pressure or injector shorted to ground. It ran fine yesterday and now wont start again. Im taking it to the local dealer asap, just have questions so as to be informed when I go.
Thanks
tell them you dont want to pay for diagnosis, you just want a new FICM. save you diagnosis labor time of 100 dollars.
Im having the same problem with my truck. Started ran for a few seconds and died. It will not start at all now. Friend of mine says the FCIM is bad but I still want to check pump press and lines for clogs first. Im getting good info from these strings thanks.
yea I was getting P0611 and low voltage on all my injectors. I told the dealership that when i took it in for HG back in oct. they said it was prob from the programer i was using nothing to wory about.. yea till it got cold and would not start. I still had the same codes i put it back to stock and left it for 2 mounths and i still had the same codes i replaced my batterys that where slightly bad and still throwing the codes and hard/no start. took it back to the dealership and they are putting in a FICM. I just wished they would have looked at it closer back in oct when they had it.
What makes them go bad? is there anything we can do to stop it from happening again?
IMO - The best thing we can do is to have a maintenance routine for the electrical/charging system. Every oil change I will look over the wires for chaffing and overheating and look at the terminals for corrosion and oxidation. I plan to clean the battery terminals annually (regardless of appearance) and will put them on a charger if they have been used heavily. I will load test my batteries at least yearly (now that they are new) and twice a year after 3 years. I know that some folks wash their engine periodically, but the sensitivity of the FICM to voltage issues will probably convince me not to do so.
Two new batteries and she started like a champ. I fugured out ehat happened the night before to kill the battery. I took my wife to the store, very close by, and used the headlights. With one battery gone, the alt thried to charge that one and I killed the other with the lights and motor running. WHen I tried to start it the next morning it was with a dead battery. The difference is amazing. Passenger side battery did not even have 30% capacity!
well it was not the injectors. I found a small leak in the upper fuel filter cap today. It pulls air and loses prime when sitting for more than 3 hours. Im getting a new cap asap
Just to let everyone know
Thanks for all the help!
