Ignition Coil Installation

I want to remove the old ignition coil and install a new one on my 2000 F150 4.2. Does anyone have some steps or tips for this procedure? Thanks.

Write down your preset radio stations, disconnect battery just as a precaution. Looks to have 3 mounting bolts an one electrical connector and of course the 6 plug wires. If you can, leave the wires in place so you don't mix them up when you put them on the new coil. Peice of cake.

When you disconnect the battery, make it the negative cable that you disconnect. Then there is no need to disconnect the positive and there is no chance of the battery getting shorted out if the positive was to be accidentally shorted because the path to ground is disconnected. Good luck!
