the nut on the oil pan clock or counter? i know stupid question the nut was not moving either way and the other question is can i force it or will it crack the pan
its like 10* out and it does not want to move will i cause the pan to break because of the cold?
You and I may be brittle at 10 degrees, but not the metal. It would have to get a little colder for that. Just get a good socket and ratchet and go for it. If the filter is still on it, start it up and warm it up. It will let the oil run out faster, and help keep you a little warm while working on it.
Well, it does come off. Turn it counter clockwise. Perhaps an impact wrench if you have one. Just make sure it's in the right gear. Do not use one to re-install it though.
