fuel filter sensor?

Keep getting an intermittent fuel filter warning light on the dash.
I replaced the filter about 8 k miles ago and it lessened the issue, but I'd like to replace the sensor too next time I put in a new filter.
Looking for pic/diagram of sensor and a part number if anyone has one.

Thanks!!

PSD part #'s...save it in your bookmarks.
TikiWiki : PSD Part Numbers

Here's some good reading. You can download them... .pdf's
Diesel Technician Society

I you are good at changing the fuel filter (every 10-15K miles) you could skip the sensor just plug the hole with a pipe plug. 1/8 NPT IIRC.

Thanks for the info. I had tried a search, but came up empty. Can't figure out why because I remembered seeing threads on the subject before.

Not sure what you are looking for. It's a vacuum sensor that looks like an oil pressure sender. It measure the vacuum (restriction) in the filter housing. It's a single wire sensor on the very top of the filter housing, drivers side.

The sensor completes the circuit to ground. The only thing that will illuminate the light is a short to ground or a plugged filter. If you unplug it the light will never come on. It could just be that you need a new filter, after 8K miles? and the sensor is OK.
