How Many Dash Light Bulbs

UI have a 96 F150 and was wanting to put LEDS in my dash. Does anyone know how many 194 type bulbs are needed without me taking the dash apart?

Been quite some time since I replaced all of mine, but I think my 1990 had 18 bulbs in the cluster.

Thanks,I had mine apart a couple years ago, but I did not want to have to take it apart just to count the bulbs. Less hassle. Thanks Again,Scott

I will let you know how it works out. My nephew put white ones in his car and they looked good. Nice and bright. I was wanting to go with red. We will see.Scott

I have a 96 cluster in front of me. There are 17 bulbs. 5 of these are for illumination. 11 are for various functions: Check Engine, ABS, Brake, Belts, Hi Beam, Amp(Battery), Right Turn, 4x4, Low, Air Bag, Anti-Theft, Left Turn. Your truck may not use all these functions; so it may be waste to change some of those bulbs. Some are only during startup and may also be trivial.

Don't use red LED's. The dash panel is impregnated with color dye that gives the white light color as it passes through, so not only will the lights be dim, it will be an ugly color if any light gets through. Get white LED's.

I was thinking the same thing but wasnt sure...cant switch the color. I would think green LEDs would be the brightest though.
