rebuilding??
i have a 92 f 150 4.9 straight 6 it has 180000 miles on it, ive kept it going good and i was wondering if rebuilding it would be a good idea, and about the aprox cost of doing it

Rebuilding is a good idea if it needs a rebuild but mileage is not necessarily an indicator. If it works, don't fix it. To many variables to project a cost. Rebuild yourself? Purchase a reman short block or long block? Machine shop work? ad infinitum. Just have to do some shopping around with the variables in mind to determine an estimated cost.

A guy in my area has 300,000 miles on his inline 6 with no rebuilds at all. He told me the secret was to change the oil. what a smart *** right? i think it is a 93? so my advice. dont fix it until its broke
