DP Tuner.. What is actually changed?

DP Tuner.. What is actually changed?
I am really curious to know what actually gets changed with a DP tuner or any other tuner/chip for that matter. Also, how 2 basically similar programs differ for example the 80HP econo and the 80HP tow I am thinking changes are made to Injector timing Injector pulse width Trans pressures and TC settings What else gets modified????? Anyone happen to have a printout of a stock PCM dump and any Modded PCM dump of any brand.... Thanks

Jody's a pretty helpful guy, i'm sure if you call and ask him, he would tell you what he does between the 2 tunes. I always thought the differences were in the shift points, line pressures, and TC lockup like you said.

I sent him an email asking about what he recommends for my truck though I think he is in CA for the week.... Didn't ask specifically about the above... but what u said would make sense that the power side of the tune is very similar or the same and its mostly tranny differences between econo and tow... like have the tow/haul mode in some of the newer trucks

Yep, Jody will answer your questions. This engine/computer allows ALOT of control. I once asked how 6spd vs. auto tuning. He said 'its totally different'. He explained he put an auto tune in a 6spd to prove this to someone and the guy could hardly stand to drive across the parking lot. Nowadays, he's incorporating EBPV to assist stopping and other cool tricks as his skills evolve. I still get a kick out of people who see my gauges and stuff and say 'Yeah, I got a chip in mine too', but they're talking about superchips or similar over the counter tuner. Most people are shocked that my tunes are 'custom' for my truck(s). And thats STILL not Live Tuning, that is even more specific to the vehicle!
