I'm beginning to notice that the turbo just doesn't seem to have the kick of old. I have a '96 350 dually w/224,000 and I've owned it from the get go, 49 stater, 5 speed w/410's, 4' downpipe, HPX lines, new cps, 203˚ stat, K&N filter and cat less. Not using any oil, always changed w/ filter at 4k. 90% of the miles are from long haul highway runs. Not many miles/yr now a days. What should I be looking for if anything as a possible source of the loss of power or am I just loosing it? Thanks for any ideas. Skip
As far as the filter goes, I check it, clean and re-oil every 4K with the oil change. I have periodically checked the compressor wheel for signs of dirt and pitting on the wheel but I haven't seen anything other than oil film from the CV. The good news is that I just picked up the 6637 filter and I'm waiting for the blue cover before I do the swap out. Ran a fuel pressure test and it came up 62 @+/_ lbs. What's the test for bad injector O rings, $$? How involved is the turbo R&R, $$? I've got the time to putz around replacing it if necessary. Thanks.
