Yeah I had a buddy send me an invite to it a year or two ago, I shoulda known you woulda loved those pics.
No I havent had an incident up north, but had a guy I worked with that just about fot us in a few. One time up near wabasca I was napping in the sleeper, and buddy was driving, and he blew past the turn off, and decided to pull into the shortest, deepest driveway out there, with a semi and a 53 foot triaxle trailer, loaded right up. He backed it right into the ditch and just about flipped us.
Second time we were coming up to athabasca and it was dark, he thought a turn off for a mill was the highway, and he went barreling into the turn off at 90km/h. How he held that truck on the road ill never know, we got really lucky there. Hes a terrible driver and has all sorts of stories like that!
Closest thing I did was pop a tire off of the bead when I didnt take a turn quite tight enough. Day 7 after i got my license haha. That was up past fort mac, up Supertest and out near a chevron camp.
I got stuck on the sand road once after a big rain, but its not like I was in the ditch I was all in the road or what was left of it. Everybody was getting stuck in that exact area grader there to pull truck out.
Ive gotten stuck a few times so i couldnt pull ahead or move backwards. Up in northern alberta that happens though. I remember one time being pulled up a long steep will by a d8 cat. I took a half mile run at it, and as soon as it got steep it stopped my truck almost instantly.
