Ford Newbee Here
That's all I needed to know.
It's cool! ;)
Yep, you've got it, ya gotta measure the stroke to really know what it is. :)
But what's it say, anyway? ;)

Sure enough. :)
There's a thread on the FE/FT forum...
"FE's are like a box of chocolates"
"F10 Y RS"
R = San Jose assembly plant.
S = has to do when it was finished.
My '75 F150 has a W and the book sez: February
But I'm not so sure about that since the books showed up Dec of '74 so
those are projected numbers, unless they are willing to skip numbers to
match the projection? {shrug}
I got mine on Feb 14 '75 and they had to have time to ship it from Michigan
to Phoenix (Santa Fe) and then truck it to Safford then repair the damage.
The Southern Pacific hauled GM stuff.
I told people it had 14.2 miles on it and they were thinking something was
funny since they usually had half that? Then we figured out the reason.
I never said anything to the dealership. I ordered it without chrome or a
radio because I was going to drive it through brush etc, that liitle bit of
damage was nothing compared to what I had planned for it. ;)
Lots of stuff goes on and it's funny but the "original" chrome front bumper
had air hammer marks on it and it's in the chrome shop right now getting
more added to it. $275 The cool thing about that bumper, is it -had- gone
through a chrome shop, so the plating was better than stock. No kidding,
it was obvious as anything, especially years later. :)

I also fixed another nagging issue today, i.e. the truck was really running sluggish, especially on a cold start. Also, the plugs were white, like it was running too lean. I rechecked the timing and everything looked okay there. I started looking around the carb for the adjustment screws and found that there was an open air fitting on the carb...no hose, no cap, no nothing, just sucking air. I guess that might explain why it was running too lean.
I plugged the fitting on the carb, reset the timing and now this "390" runs like a beast. My next move is to put headers and dual exhaust on it and really open her up. Man, I can't wait...I never knew how cool it was working on these old trucks. I am like a kid in a candy store
