whats new in lighting for the pick up bed?

I bought some 48 inch white neon tubes for my truck planning to put them under the rails. Didn't work out the way I was hoping... my tonneau cover brackets didnt leave enough room. I ended up giving them to my friend who did exactly what I had planned. Wired in a switch to his rear parking lights and mounted the switch out of the way in the corner of the bed by the tailgate. Hard to see the tubes and lights up pretty well.

Bulldog,
Here are some pics of my old truck with the undercarraige lights. I mounted them the same way on the new truck but used different lights underneath (I used the same ones that were in the bed of my old truck below). Reason, I did that was because they are smaller and have a better pattern.
I used these lights on the new truck (shown in bed of old truck)
You can pick them up at Walmart and the box looks like this:
Old truck with lights on... I wired them the same way as the reverse light diagram with the following exception...primary trigger is the dome light wire for the relay and the secondary trigger is an in cab switch with diode.... so the lights come on when you hit the key FOB, or open the door, or if you turn on the interior lights using the dimmer switch. The seperate switch described above (secondary trigger) allows you to turn them on without having to turn on interior lights, or open the door.

I was thinking of trying the bed rail / cargo area LED light kit from Recon. Has anyone tried it?

I used two sets of 12" dual white cold cathode lights for computers to light up my truck bed. These lights draw little power and very bright. Easy to install as these lights run on 12 VDC and the kits included switch.
