Here is what he said: If you could kindly put it on FTE that if anyone had planned on sending anything to hold off- we just got reassigned. Still in Iraq, but a little further north than originally planned. So once I get my no-**** for real this time address, I'll let you know. I really wish I could get on FTE, but for some reason it won't let me unless it's like 1am and there's only 2 or 3 computers in use vice the right now almost 40 being used.
When I hear from Danny again I will let everyone know.
He might be off FTE, but if this thread keeps growing, so be it, he will see it soon.
Danny, not in or never served, just a dumb firefighter. On behalf of my two boys who will inherit the world as we know it, thank you for keeping it over there, and keeping us here safer. Hope it goes as quick and as safe as possible!
Hey, ya know, I should edit this. Thanks to all on here that have served or are active. It is quite impressive to see the amount of support from vets on here, I know I appreciate you all. Many people are impressed with the brotherhood of the fire service, but it pales to the military.
I know Danny is already gone, but my prayers are with him, his family and those of his unit.
I am constantly humbled by the sacrifices those of you currently in uniform, and those of you who have previously served, make for us here and those abroad. You make the trials and tribulations I go through in my mundane life seem so trivial. As a former marine brat (born at Cherry Point), I grew up with an ingrained respect for the service and I thank my lucky stars that my father made it through from '68-'72.
Be safe Danny. Come back home to your family and thank you so much for the sacrifice and service to this great country.
Hey everyone- thanks so much for the well wishes, it's good to hear what everyone has to say. Well, I'm here in Husayba Iraq, and so far so good. We got pretty sweet digs out here coutesy of the team we're replacing. Sorry I can't say much about my mission, but ya'll understand the whole opsec (operational security) thing. I'll add more when as it comes. If anyone wants to added to my distribution list for when I send out my weekly or so letter, just shoot me a PM. It may not be the most glorious, but it'll kill some time hehe. Later folks!
Glad you are well so far! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your service to our country. I pray every day for all the people who keep us free. I hope all goes well for your family while you are deployed. Again in closing thanks to you and all who are and have served be safe.
