Da dummy can give you some numbers saying they are different, OK.
The chassis for our level of interest are pretty identical end to end with mynute differences if any.
I know on long wheel base models, the wheel base on the 67-72 frames is a few inches longer. If you swap the 65-66 sheet metal over you have to get a little creative with the box to make it look right. They are the same width, wide in the front until the rear of the cab and then the back section of the frame gets slightly narrower.
I am sure other members can go into more details but that is what I know about them.
yeah if you still use the 66 bed, then youll have to take a sledgehammer to it to mount the bed and youll have to weld in some bed mounting brackets and cut a little off the back.

not swaping to a 72 frame. just looking into IRS. there is another member witha 72 that a company is working with to figure out some bugs with there settup and the trucks. if they get it dialed in i might use it.

That they are, I am trying to find out what the difference is between my frame, your frame, and the 74-79 frame aswell.
But, the frame is not the issue with the ride height problem I came into. It is the Panther subframe that determines where the suspension has to be. Even if the frames are very close or just a bit off in dimensions it doesnt solve the issue unfortunately.
The 73-79 frame was widened behind the rear cab mounts, I believe by 4". This was done as part of an effort to make the rear track as wide as the front that was widened in 65 with the twin Ibeam.
