Fuel system mod

YouTube - 7.3 HIGH PERFORMANCE 1 OF 2 - FUEL SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS

Check this out there are 2 parts to this. I am wondering has anyone here done the mod to the fuel filter Bowl and the plugs on the heads? Does this do anything for more hp or just make the fuel gauge drop quicker?

Have you ever changed your fuel filter and noticed gunk or something in the bottom of the bowl? When the lid is unscrewed the spring in the stand pipe keeps that junk from going to your fuel injectors. My opinion is just leave it alone. If you're wanting to push lots of power and have fueling issues, there are other modifications you can do, but the stock set up works for most, the fuel bowl delete works for many others. Not many have to remove the screens from the heads.

If you want to remove the screens from inside the tank, do it this way Welcome to guzzle's In-tank Hutch Mod Web Page

If you drive your truck enough, there's a good chance something will end up in your tank. We put an inline filter between the tank and pump to keep from sucking anything into the pump.

the bowl is not the down fall..its in the heads...even if you fix the head to flow more..the bowl still not need to be done...the bowl flow's enough to put out over 500 HP...i think it was Dave Lott the was running over 600 with a bowl...

Frankly, I take those videos with a grain of salt. Every one of his videos has a lot of misinformation in them.

For example, the first video: he calls that white thing inside the SD tank a filter. That is in fact the mixing chamber. He says it's a restriction to have in the tank. It's not. There is a design flaw with the mixing chamber that allows air to enter the fuel lines when the tank drops below 1/4. This is the reason people remove it, to fix the design flaw and get rid of the air, not for added flow. He also says the plunger in the fuel bowl is a restriction. It's not, removing the plunger has zero effect. The bowl and filter setup is a restriction on really high HP trucks, even if you remove the plunger. For stock or mild injectored trucks, the fuel bowl still flows enough fuel. How do I know? My fuel pressure gauge is installed on the regulator, which is at the fuel return line. So if the bowl was that much of a restriction, I would be losing pressure at WOT, and I would see it register at the gauge since it's mounted behind all the "restrictions".

In the second video, he's drilling out the fuel rail drain plug. That's all it is, a drain plug. If that plug were actually in the way and causing a restriction, high HP guys would have done this a long time ago. Lott and Zane have the quickest and fastest PSD's in the country, and neither one of them did this mod.

On most forums, the guy in the videos is a joke. Don't bother wasting your time. Ask questions here, and we'll set you straight.
