Got my title;
Well it took me almost 3 yrs but I finally got the title for my truck and got it in MY name. I didn't think I'd ever get a title. Now I can start to work on it and get it running.
This title thing can be a real hassle. Coincidentally, I just got my title for my first '53 yesterday but it was not due to a hassle on the part of the Ohio DMV. It just took me forever to get it all taken care of. the last '53 I got from Walford, (Bill), was an Ohio title and a slam dunk. The First '53 was from Georgia where all you get for anything older than a '63 is a Bill of Sale. I knew the proceedure, but it was just a matter of my taking forever to get it all done. I was thinking of having it framed.
There really needs to be some kind of standard imposed on the states by the feds to get their collective acts together. Maybe they could force them by threatening to cut their federal highway funds. If nothing else they could at least try to do something about the antique/historic class of vehicles. I honestly believe that this title thing is why a lot of stuff never gets restored. People just look at the hassle and figure it's not worth the bother.
I will give credit and praise to the local title bureau office. I went in there armed with everything including the printed out part of Georgia title law. The lady there just said no ploblem, she already knew about their laws and zip-bang I had title in hand. In this day and age of bureaucratic red tape and confusion I figured praise was due where common sense was the order of the day.

Later Folks...
I feel a lot safer now, I don't have to worry about someone taking it away from me after it's on the road.
