cold start

cold start
Have a 2003 f350 when below 0 starts with no power, or if running at high speed below 0 degrees above 60 will lose power stoping idling will fix for a while. Ford says the FICM fuel injection control module is bad.
Are there other problems that will cause this, from what i read if the ficm was bad it would not run it warm, get good run and mpg when warm.

When my ficm went south I had a nasty miss (like half the cylinders dead)whenever the truck wanted.I had no issues with cold running at all. Sounds like a stuck thermostat confusing the computer to me but I am a bricklayer.Bump.

talked to ford shop they say
After talking more in depth with both of my diesel technitions I still beleive that the FICM wasnt bad back in May because the main way they test a FICM is to test the voltages comming out of it. A normal working FICM will have 48 volts as soon as you turn the key on and not drop below 47.5 volts while cranking this is the way it was testing in May but when testing in January it only had 23 volts with the key on. The Ficm being bad will cause a hard starting concearn. Your loss of power is being caused by the EGR valve that is plugged up this we know was not an issue in May as well because we never recieved any codes from the main engine computer for this.

They are talking 1127 parts and labor for the FICM an egr valve.
are they on track to fix this truck?
