Rear end DESTROYED

Hey guys,
Quick story, I was driving down the road with my buddy and we felt and heard this loud bang. So I pull over and go to check it out. Everything looked fine and I got back in the truck and continued on. I get about 5 miles down the road and heard a big bang this time. I didn't know what it was so I coasted down until I could pull over and I tried to move the truck before I got out and nothing happened. I got out to check it out and my rear driveshaft is snapped in two. Later I find out at my buddy's shop the Pinion head snapped off and destroyed the carrier assembly, ring, and Diff lock. So now I have to find a new used rear since it is cheaper than replace new. I will try and post pictures when I get some. I was amazed how the driveshaft just peeled like a soda can. This happened on my 97 250

No, it is a sterling 10.25. IIRC

3.73 gears were not used in 1997. Only 4.10 and 3.55.
