Audio HELP!

I want to upgrade the sound system in my 05' xlt f-150. problem is i cant find any reasonable room in the cab for a subs or anything you would need to upgrade ... im curious to how it would sound if i were to try to mount the sub and amp in the bed, but would you be able to hear it if you did that?

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

doing this will just result in ur system getting jacked... i have seen truck with subs and amps in the bed and it will work.. u can hear it... but its gonna get stolen... if u have a reg. cab there are sub boxes available... ive seen them for 2 10's and 2 12's... but it takes up the whole section behind the seats... best bet if u have a know how with wood or a friend who does is to make your own box... u would be suprised how much room is back there....

personally ive been using crutchfield and have out fited 2 trucks with it. They have sub boxes just for your truck. I swear by these guys, ive gotten decks, speakers, subs, woffers, amps and wiring kits from these guys and love them. Find Car Audio/Video Gear that Fits Your Vehicle at Crutchfield! check em out with the link ive got it should take you to the part where you put in your truck info so they can tell you what fits and what dosnt. Try them out and see

lots of people have been using these boxes and some people use the subs that they offer and say they sound good. i have not heard the subs so i cannot vouch for the subs.

SuperCrewSound - Quality Subwoofer Enclosures made in the USA - Products - Subwoofer Enclosures for Trucks - Ford

i myself built a box to fit under my rear seat of my screw for one low pro kicker (kicker cvt) it's sounds alright but there is better subs out there...

u can put subs in your bed but you wouldn't barely here it in your cab unless u cut a big hole in your cab to go through to your bed which would be ridiculous. i suggest finding a box that fits your cab like stated above or getting a supercrew . they make boxes that house 2 12's for the supercrew

I dont think that you need a custom box. I have a pioneer 10in slimline sub under the driverside rear seat in my supercab. It works out wonderfully. I also have a 400watt amp pushing it with another 400watt amp pushing my door speakers, which are pioneer also. Plus there is a ipod compatable panosonic cd player in the dash with sirius sat radio hooked into that. It works real good and only uses the space under the seats for the sub box. Thats what I have in my truck and thats what I also would recomend.

I got my box on ebay. It was $120ish. Very good build quality although I couldn't tell you the seller if I tried. But like others have said, dont put the subs in the bed. They will disappear just as you get used to the extra bass from them.

i don't know what kind of bass your looking at but if your anything but a light listener then you definitely want to get a probox for your f150.

to be blunt here, sealed enclosure boxes straight out suck. ported boxes is the way to go. they will play just about any music. i personally have a probox in my supercrew and i couldn't believe the difference in a ported box and a sealed box and especially coming from underneath a seat. I WILL GUARANTEE PROBOX WILL BLOW AWAY ANYTHING YOU GUYS CAN FIND OR RIG UP IN YOUR F150 UNDERNEATH THE SEAT!!! i will not buy anything now but a ported box now and anything thats not a probox. good thing about them, gerald is the guy you'll talk to over there and he will guarantee you'll like it because he'll UPS red rag the item and give your money back if your not 100% satisfied. you can't beat that for confidence.

here is the link again. www.proboxrocks.com

here's another guy who makes a 2 12 pioneer pancake woofer box sealed, sealed suck. i have emailed him before and he said he will make that same dim box but with 1 pioneer pancake 12 sub but ported.

mark my words people, one sub ported sounds better than 2 subed sealed. spend less money on the subs and just think out the box a lil more.

heres' the link BoxWorX

rock on!!!

I believe the Scab has the same amount of space under the rear seats as the Screw? If that is true there are numerous users on Ebay who sell subs and premade boxes just for that spot. I got a setup for under the rear seat of my Screw and it sounds great. I got it from a guy by the name of Rodney I believe on Ebay. Look around there are a lot of options.

gerald at probox is a great guy and he had the probox shipped to me from texas to california for 550! that sounds kind of steep but it ain't considering you get 2 woofers that are equal to JL audio w6's.

lets say for example you buy a box for 2 12's, those subs will be at least 300 add in the box and labor, will be at least 500.

lets just say you do the other option i gave you guys, if you do a single 12 ported box for 250 shipped and buy that pioneer pancake for 200, you've already 450 into it. or do what people do most of the time with a sealed box, the box for 250 shipped and buy 2 pioneer pancakes for 400 more. total cost is alot now.

most bang for your buck will be a probox.

also, the JL stealth box is another option and i'm sure its quite well, it a single 10w3 ported but will cost you 550-580 (jl audio prices are not nego). this would be a prettty good option though because almost anything jl puts out is good and you'll have some room under the passenger backseat for amp or something.

rock on
