I have never used DPI, but i have heard that Superchips Digital Propane Injection is one of the safest ways to add fuel economy and power. Me being a young buck i am more interested in the power part of that. I would just like to know if anyone has already done this and if it is a noticeable difference.
1994.5 F-350 PSD Single Cab 5 speed, Banks technicooler, Edge programmer, k and n intake, 4in exhast.
Propane by itself is pretty effective, but when you start cranking it up for power when you already have a power adder....an Edge programmer for example.... it can get dicey in a hurry. Unless you are trying to make a window in the block, then it's very effective.
IMO you would be better off injecting water or NOS.....but far better than either one would be to invest in a hotter program and a set of injectors.

Scxott is right. PP is a risky business. If you want more power start out with a better chip the the wEdge you have now. Still want more after that get injectors.
PP can predetonate. Meaning since diesel are compression ignition (uses heat not spark) injecting fuel (propane) into the intake tract it is not a controlled burn. The PP could start to burn way too early causing piston and connecting rod damage. Some have run PP with not issues, some have destroyed engines in short order especially when injecting for power.
Also when running PP its best to have a chip that is programmed accordingly. I don't know exactly what they change but they tune it just a bit different.
Holy double posts batman!
I would do your homework before you bought this kit. Unlike me! It is a very safe injection kit but won't work with all power adders or IDI ENGINES pre 1994
