headers--do they need add'tl heat proofing

I'm going to install a set of sanderson headers which are ceramic coated --already----Question----can I or should I put some additional heat proofing paint on the inside while I have access to them prior to installing---common sense tells me it would be money well spent , especially if if gives the metal a longer life ---I'm assuming it would have that effect!!!And , what kind of paint should i use to do this add'tl heat proofing?????thanks for your help folks , fd :-X11 :-X11

They should be coated on the inside too. I think paint would be a waist of time... Prolly burn off anyway.

If you buy quality headers, don't worry about it. And especially don't coat the outsides! It will hold heat in, baking them from the inside. Doug Thorley specificall y states this in conjunction with their headers.

definitnly dont do that. you will cause the headers to fatigue and crack. like towing toys said you dont want to disapate heat.
