Header Recommendation

Im currently rebuilding a 302 for my 82 f150 and would like to install a new exhaust at the same time. Well I am going dual 2-1/4 exit in front of the tires with super turbo mufflers probably. But my question is should i add a set of cheap headers like dynomx, flowtech, hooker, or heddman. Would just their basic header be worth the 130 or so dollars. I would like to eventually add a 4bbl carb. Would the headers add more performance than the exhaust manifolds and what brands will hook up easy on my truck? Thanks alot.

I personally stay away from low end headers. but of the ones you mention the dynomax is the better if you make sure they are built with quality materials. the most important being the flange that bolts the header to the head. Every thing else can be great, but if that is to thin you will have a miserable sounding leak that will never go away. Try to find headers with a 3/8 thickness flange, minimum. Not saying you cant make the others work OK. But once they get warped, they are shot.
