I've posted before about this issue. I have an 03 F250 Ext. Cab Superduty 4x4, just rolled over to 114,000 miles, 6.5 inch lift on 35 inch BFG A/T.
My problem comes around when I get around 45 mph and up, something is causing the truck to vibrate up and down, a light bounce maybe, but continuous. The steering wheel doesn't go back and forth.
Tires, shocks, or bad roads are the usual causes. Some roads have the expansion joints at just the right distance to cause harmonics in different trucks. If it happens all the time it's probably tires or shocks, if it only happens on certain roads it's probably the road.
It sounds like an out of round tire or like the previous post, the freeway. If yours is anything like mine, our crappy California freeway (US 101) requires a kidney belt.
check your tires for a seperated bead. basicly what happens is the metal (or nylon) that is in the tire seperates and causes a goose egg in the tire. this happened on my old truck and it only vibrated around 70-80kph. any slower or any faster and the vibration seemed to dissapear.
I have the exact same year but a 4 door truck. i have same lift and same size tires and i have the same problem you have. I cant figure it out. if you find out the problem it sounds like it might be mine as well. Did you ever get that fixed?
Sorry it's taken so long to respond, it's been pretty hectic around here. But I did take a trip to Gainesville this weekend and the drive there was horrible.
To answer your question, no I haven't gotten it fixed and it made the ride extremely annoying. I cannot seem to find the problem. I did crawl under and checked everything. The one thing I did find was that the leaves on the front leaf set sort of twisted a little. If you were run your fingers on the side of the leaf pack, some of them were "turned".
At some point I'm going to tighten the center pin. Is it the answer to the annoying vibration, I have no clue.
I have the front bench seat and the center console vibrates horizontally REALLY bad. I'm trying to get this issue solved. If anybody has any information I would greatly appreciate it.
