Newb here from texas

Hey guys im new around this site, so i dont have an avatar or any pics up. Im a Ford Diesel Technician if that helps any lol........Sadly, I currently dont own a Ford truck (although I have owned many) and work on them every day.

I drive a Ford car, though.........2007 Mustang GT with a few bolt ons, best time to date is an 11.97@116... Daily driver too. I figured I could lend a hand around the tech sections when I have time, and Im always looking for stuff about Ford trucks.

Welcome silverstang, that's a pretty quick DD. Let me guess, supercharged and spray? Check out the PSD forums, lots of tech stuff going on in there.

that time was on a little 75 shot.........It has a mild set of cams, and then the normal other bolt ons (CAI, a few suspension goodies, shifter, gears, etc).......other than the cams the engine is completely stock.........hopefully about to get a stroker off in her but money is kinda tight.......

Welcome, silverstang. You have a diesel mustang?

And for the record, my 6.0 never spent much time at any dealership. A couple of flashes, shock and spring replacement - that's it.
Where in TX are you?

Jim C, im from Buna Tx, work in Orange Tx........im guessing you are one of the responsible 6.0 owners that keep up with the maint. on your truck. I still say to this day I would rather own a 6.0 than a 7.3, you couldn't guess how many people look at me like im stupid.

Buy yer'self a cheap 90s model F series gasser & do a junkyard mass-air conversion. (You should have enough tech savy to do it in your sleep) Then join us in the 87-96 forum. Welcome.

I've got Texas ties as well, love to go over whenever possible.

I'm with you on the 6.0. But a lot of people don't know how (or don't care) to do the maintenance necessary with the emissions-regulated diesels. I think I've "done my homework" on the EGR cooler system (i.e., plugged it), had head studs installed to replace the stock bolts, put on a free-flowing exhaust and bypassed the crank case vent. Oh, and I switched to synthetic oil. I think my 6.0 will last a while.

Hoosier, I grew up on the other side of Temple, not far from Killeen/ Harker Heights.
How many Bud Lights have you had? Better put it down before you hit that back-of-your-knee-licking state.

Howdy, come down the to idi forum: www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum117

Because come on, Powerstokes are way to overcomplicated and not nearly as reliable as the idis were.

I'm from Texas as well. More west Texas for me actually, but I do occasionally go to the Fort Hood, Harker Heights area to visit my Mom and sister.
