I average about a dozen cups of coffee a day... some days I don't make coffee, but other days I make three pots of it. Mostly drink it black, but sometimes I'll take cream and sugar. Most days I carry a Thermos of coffee in my truck. I do have a cup of tea once in awhile, but never have cared for sweet tea.
With milk, I can take it or leave it, really. I carry a jug of water if I'm out working in the hot weather, but rarely drink water at home just to satisfy my thirst.
For soft drinks, Mountain Dew, ginger ale (prefer Canada Dry, but store brands work, too), Cherry Coke, or Coca-Cola Classic. Once in a great while I'll have a Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, 7-UP, or Squirt, but generally save the last two for mixing with whiskey.
For beer, Miller Lite or MGD Light for a night out. For a change of pace (rare, but it happens), I'll have a Sam Adams or Guinness.
For spirits, I'm a Jim Beam drinker for shots and the occasional mixed drink (cola, sour, or 7-UP). Also like to have a 7&7 if I'm going out to a bar, but usually drink beer when I'm bar-hopping.
Don't care for vodka, tequila, gin, or scotch, whether mixed or straight. Same goes for wine.
A decent pour of quality rye (crown royal) into a short glass with lots of ice with a little squirt of water is my drink. It has been know to remove the hair off your chest so drink in moderation.
Im a coffie snob since I started at starbucks 10 years ago. It has to be fresh ground expresso based or nothing. I like coke and add my own cherries for extra flavor. Stoped the alcohol 100% after many years of double shot WILD TURKEY 101 WITH A COLD SUNDROP CHASER.....one reason good liquier cost alot more is because you dont get as sick from over drinking it as you would the cheaper stuff.no lie
The Mrs. and I are pretty much whiskey people. She likes Southern Comfort and Dr Pepper, pretty damn good if do say so myself. Despite my FTE username my old standby is always Jack and Coke, normally keep a Texas-fifth on top of the fridge.
When I was poor it was always 100 proof Southern Host, Old Grandad, or some really cheap local Hawkeye whiskey. By really cheap I mean 7 bucks for 750ml, that crap would screw you up but it was gross as all hell.
If we go out drinking we always hit up the same place. Its about 500 yards away from my house and my best friend since grade school is the bar tender on Fridays and Saturdays, couldn't ask for a better deal. Since the Mrs and I get the 'friends discount' I normally drink the fancy stuff there, Single Barrel Jack or Blue label Johnnie Walker are my favorites, both on the rocks of course.
I'm drinking coffee all morning. A good amount too. No apologies here.
Steve, did you ever give that coffee I suggested a try? If not, you don't know what you're missing...
When I tended bar, I made a drink that was a half shot of Amaretto, half shot of Southern Comfort in a high ball glass filled with ice and topped with Coke. I made it up (I had never heard of it, anyway) for the females that wanted something a little stronger but wasn't overkill- like the Long Island Iced Tea. Never had one complaint over it.
In my own drinking days it was Jim Beam in my left hand and Budweiser in my right hand- Boilermakers without the glass!
Seriously, though, if you put your bourbon in the freezer for a couple hours, it goes down ultra smooth.... I learned to sip Kentucky whiskey like a gentleman. I never did care for Tennessee Whiskey (sour mash) that much. (I haven't drank in 17 years- not even a sip on New Year's Eve... I still make a pretty good bartender)
coca-cola!! during the day ill have it strait up then after 5-6 pm theres usualy half a can of jack and half coke. i go threw about a 12 pack of cokes a day
