This time, the carnage is due to REALLY burning out. Or trying to.. Not just some jackass in a chevy locking up his brakes while being towed.
A little backstory:
Its 1am. I'm pissed off at the girlfriend. Thinking "Hmm.. i'll go screw around in the truck." So I drive down my street, do little burnouts. Shift down to first gear, punch the throttle. I get a little bit of a chirp. But i'm not satisfied. I figure, LOW range would do it easy. So I roll to a stop, shift into LOW and put it in drive. I hit the throttle lightly, see what kind of acceleration it has. Topping out a 25mph in LOW, what a beast right?
SO, there I was. Pretty confident with my LOW range power. I decide to put it in first gear. No plans to test it easy. I slam my foot on the gas pedal and KJARLKAJSLKRJALKSHHHPH. My driveshaft breaks free.
The proof:
The U-Joint on the truck still.
-
The U-Joint, very much broken.

Another picture. Different angle.

U-Joint free. Cracked yoke on truck.
-
It doesn't look so bad!
-
Okay I guess it does..
The present:
Ran to the part store around 9am. Bought the U-Joint, pulled the yoke off another truck at my house. Had the truck back on the road by 11am. (Wouldn't have taken so long but I had some issues getting the yoke.)
I think i've learned to be a little easier on the Ford.
And I don't want to hear any of that maintenance crap. This U-Joint was put in about two months ago. I blame the raw power of Ford engines!
I was really surprised! The only thing holding the yoke in one piece was that little yellow piece of plastic. I have my uncles F-250 sitting at my house. I've been stealing parts from it. I guess he'll learn not to leave vehicles here. So far i've got the engine, a door, a yoke and misc. switches from the inside.
Must be a male thing, but after a fight my right foot is attracted to the floor like there's magnets implanted in it!
I have the same fight with the mud every weekend!!!!!!
I get so mad at it, I just smash the gas and try to keep the engine from letting the internal parts out,,,,,, and then I go baby go!!!!!
I'm really really in a good mood right now! I just sold my quad. SO!! I can buy a decent gas mileage car. Get rid of this 8mpg truck. Well, stop driving it daily anyways. Then I can jack it up even higher. Put some more expensive pieces on it. Make it a little less road legal and a little more fun.
that is good brakage.. just wondering.. What brand of u-joints are you running?
the reason i ask, if you say anything but spicer, i'll tell you to buy some spicers... i have had very bad luck with ujoints that are non-spicer. they seem be be weaker.

I have had bad luck with joints that small in general......
Time to buy some big boy yokes, joints and hardware.
I'd agree on the spicer joints.....best quality i've found....and i got to build a new driveshaft because of non-spicer defective joints...12 miles after install it split right down the middle...on the highway...at 80 mph.....
Dang I was expecting some real good carnage. I broke a motor mount once because I got mad at my 87 (forgot why now that I'm thinking about it) and just punched the crap out of it and the rear end started to burn out, but then it got wheel hop and the entire truck started shaking like crazy, then pop, both motor mounts were trashed.
