Cold start will not move

I have a 02 F250 with a 7.3 everything is stock. My computer went out about a week ago it was a VDH4 so I had a spare one but it is a VDH2. On a cold start it has no throttle response for like 10 minutes its like it has to warm up first before the engine gets power. Is there anyway to fix this I don't always have time for the engine to warm up??

Welcome to FTE. That is strange. So when you push the go pedal with a cold engine you can't rev the motor? Does the motor rev in any gear (PRNDL)?

Welcome to FTE.

How do you know the computer went out? Why did you happen to have another? The PCM is truck specific. You might try to find the same PCM that went out.

Yes, that is correct the motor will not rev in any gear.

After going through a long process of testing different things I narrowed it down to the computer. When I removed the computer I took the cover off and it was shorted out and burnt on the inside. So a friend of mine runs a towing service he had a totaled out truck so he gave it to me.

it's the injector control pressure sensor. It is on top of the left cylinder head toward the front,
Unplug it and see if there is any oil in the plug

Are you sure about this Ray? I haven't heard that one before. I could see it with the romps or causing poor running, but the lack of pedal response doesn't make sense to me?

Either way, it's a cheap test. The ICP is on the inboard front side of the drivers head and looks like this.

Unplug the electrical connector, start the truck, and see if the engine responds to the pedal when cold. If it does, replace the sensor.

the way mine started was with romps then no pedal response for a while after that it got hard to start when cold
when it had no pedal response I could hold it wide open and would only idle

Same exact thing has happened to me a couple times, only when it gets in single digits the night before and when i cant reach a plug for the engine block heater. i assumed it was normal, it only takes about a minute or two to get throttle response. didnt know anything about an icp tho, ill have to check it out
