Are you sure you have an aftermarket turbo because that thing looks stock but I can barely tail by the pictures no good light on it. THat K&N set up looked rough with the duct tape and all that on it. I really dig that paint job it has to be custom because I have only seen one more like that and that was in Diesel Power. GOod job on the Air Intake on the truck though just needs a Petes cover . That looks alot like a TS Chip only way to tell is to pull the PCM out and look at it.
the truck does have a paint job it was originally solid black. the pics aint the best because i use my phone. my dad told me i was stupid and i should have just put another k+n on it and left it alone the intake aint perfect i just used what i could find in the shed i need to find some thing better for the elbow right now its just a deal you can turn and make diff angles that is for a dryer vent lol. got a real dump question but where is the comp and how do i pull the chip?
The PCM is on the drivers side by the E brake pedal. The connector is on the firewall under the hood make sure the key stays out of the ignition(unhooking the batteries is not a bad idea either)the connector takes a 10mm socket and there is two bolts on the PCM they are 7mm. Then once the connector is off and the screws out pull the PCM sometimes it can be hard to pull it out just be careful. Then pull the plastic cover and the chip is there on the back pull it off the PCM if it is a TS chip it will have TS performance on it.
More than one person here has had to buy a new motor because the K&N let too much dirt through. Many of us use the 6637 filter. That's the one you'll see lots of pictures of here. The cheapest place to get it is from fleetfilter.com Enter 46637 in the search box. This is a Wix filter with the part number 546637 and is available (for lots more $$$) at your local NAPA, Carquest, etc. It's the same as the Baldwin filter (I think PA2818 is the number for Bladwin)
Tell your Dad you've been doing some research link, click me, and decided the wix/baldwin filter has a much better filtration rating in the tests.
Looks like it's not the stock turbo. The size of the intake looks to be the same size coming from the filter to the turbo intake. It is kind of hard to see in the pics.
i just went to oriellys and got a filter. and i will try to get a name on the chip 2maro. i have read alot on the diesels and when i tell dad one thing he will argue with me and tell me im wrong lol. what do ya'll think would be better leave the grill and front bumper how they are or get chrome ones.? where is a good place to get tranny parts to make it shift firmer?
Well I think a good black out look would look great on the front of your truck but you do have some Chome going on there. Since you do farming you might consider this
As for the Tranny I would recommend a good Transgo or Tugger kit for your transmission since you seem to be mechanically inclined if you want to go the lazy way and just drop in a new Valve body you can get a BTS or John Woods VB both are great but they run about 225 bucks compared to the 80 the DIY kits run. You will also need to have your chip retuned to run it but the design of that chip looks to be TS so Tony Wildman can reburn it for a 150 bucks and it will be a completely different truck.
Of course you're Dad's right. I tell my daughter the same thing, but I don't think she believes me. That's why I gave you the link. It shows how the filter many of us use compares to the K&N filter. Look at the efficiency rating and how much dirt each filter lets through. Then consider the fact that your turbo wheel spins up to 130,000 rpm's and imagine what particles of dirt will do to those little fins. (Imagine a sand blaster on aluminum).

That grill is no good Justin. You need some Quarter Horses on there instead.
where did you get that grill? i would like one like it with cow skulls in it. i dont want to totally chrome it out and get too much. i just want some chrome to brake up the darkness of the truck and make it stand out. will one of the new like 05 super duty grills fit my truck?
Hey thats all they had at the time and I wanted to stand out. I agree with the quarter horses though heh. I am temped to swap it out for the buck grill.
Yes a new SD grill will fit in your truck they require a little modification to the bottom say cut off about an inch or if you look on ebay you can find already modifed grills ready to go.
i was thinking of putting the 05 lights in it. around what does it cost to rebuild these trannys? does anyone have the white guage insert? and if so do you like it?
