Not as good as using the new one. If it is holding right now you might get away with it.

What were you thinking Rus? lol This happens, if its not leaking you may get away with it like Dan said. I would wait till it leaks before changing it. You do know how to change it now.

If the gasket looked "that good" that you mistakenly re-installed it, you should be OK. I replaced my W/P at 98k miles and the "new" gasket started seeping, at the top, and I had to replace it 50k miles later. Went ahead and put another new W/P on there for good measure. Gasket was only $5, but I didn't want to have a "do over'', later. It looked a little "iffy" around the weep hole.

As previous if not leaking drive on. We have all had our phopas,,, While doing the 4wd front hub replacement I put the backing plate on backwards and didn't catch it until I could not get the rotor on.,, then had to pull the bearing and axle back out to install it correctly. Drive on.

Older and slower worked for me.

over 60
over 3 days to do the work
over 150 for NEW pump to do the job

no leaks, no drips, driving on.

So Older slower might just be ok!

Better to be a bit slower and do it right than hurry and spend more time doing it over. Quality work comes with patience and skill.

Maybe this comes with wisdom through age and bad experience.

That is what happened to me... no leakes - so far. Biggest problem was standing on my short ladder to be able to reach over the front and that blessed hood latch jabbed me in the gut......
Bob
Yeah, I know I should have covered it with some padding... live and learn

My son gave me a Top Side Creeper. It is great for working under the hood of the Excursion 4wd. The truck is high and I have a bad back. I used this to do my water pump. Took 3 days and had no back issues. You might consider one.

Topside Creeper

I've seen that item before... just don't have the space to put it... it does seem to prevent the problems that I encountered.

I haven't used it much but it really is a back saver. I had to make a place to store it. My kids gave it to me as a gift so I would not hurt my back.
