I am at work and want to order my new rear springs and forgot to measure the ubolts. Need to know what size to order. It’s a 78 f250 4x4 reg. cab with Dana 60 rear with factory blocks. I would like to have them a little longer to play with height to get it level with the front. Thanks in advanced for any help. Just want to order them tonight so they will be here Thursday when I am off.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
You might wanna double check or a second opinion, but the springs i ordered for my 76 highboy with dana 60 and 4" stock block measured 5/8"x 3 1/4"x 13 1/2" with 18 for the thread. These should give you some extra room since i dont believe your truck would have the 4" block and could always be ground off later. stengelbros.com does also have the springs in 13.5 and 11.5" lengths as well. Hope that helps.
In order to get the correct U-bolts, or ones a little longer, one must first know the GVWR and the wheelbase because the only way to look these up in the parts catalog is by the load capacity of rear springs.
The U-Bolts used on HIGH BOYS are not the same ones used on 1978/79 F250's.
i did the same thing today for almost the exact same truck but mines a supercab though and had no problem finding the u-bolts. the problem is finding the u-bolt plates that go on the ends and hold the leaf springs up. i found it easier to custom make them because napa didnt have any and every place they called didnt have any. and by u-bolts were 1/2"(diameter)X3"(wide)X6.75"(long) they fit fine
