Axle Width
Hello,
I am looking for info on making a 99 F-350 SRW into a DRW,
Some guys say i can put the dual wheels on my current axle, other say i cant cause the inside will rub the springs.
What is the difference in width bettween a srw and drw axle?
Is this possible with out any problems?
Do i have to buy a kit to do it? and If so where is the best place to find a kit like that?

The difference is 4" total length or 2" per side. This is for the regular pickup DRW axle. If you want dual wheels on your current axle, you'll need spacers...not a good idea due to the added stresses on the bearings.
Your best bet it to get a DRW axle and the bed unless your planning on running a flatbed.
I've posted on this subject several times if you want to do a search. My numbers are for the 87-97 10.25 rear axles, but I dont think there is any difference when comparing to the 10.5s.
