How about this one?

I have been reading a lot of posts about different systems, tube size, muffler choice, etc. and have learned quite a bit. But I havent' heard this one described as of yet. First I have a typical system on my 460. 2 1/2 in. dual exhaust, into I don't know what kind of mufflers, but it sounds nice, into 2 1/4 in. tail pipes out the side behind the right rear tire. No crosspipe (yet), no cats. My sys. is rusty and the exhaust is restricted by the tube bends. While at the local pick a part junk yard I happend upon this sys. Tell me what you think. 2 1/2 in. dual pipes comming off the manifolds into one big-O-muffler. When I tap the muffler it sounds like a bell ringing. Like there's nothing inside. Single 3 in. tube comming out and exiting behind the right rear tire. All stainless steel, no cats, welded solid, mandrel bent tubing. It looks like it was put on last week. The guy wants 12 bucks for the muffler so I figure I can get the whole sys. for cheap. Gotta be better than mine anyway. So what do you think? Dual 2 1/2 inlet, single 3 in. outlet. Any and all opinions welcome. Thanks.

Dependig on the muffler, I think that it would sound pretty good. You would never have to replace it again. If you can get it cheap go for it. If you dont like the muffler and want duals you can get a new stainles muffler and have some new stainless tailpipes made. Sound like a plan to me.

The 3" single is smaller than 2-2.5" pipes using the old formula for area. The 3" has 7.065 square inches of area and 2-2.5" have 9.813 square inches of area. Less area less Flow

Thanks for your replies. I decided against it. After looking under the truck more closely it seems the forklift used to move the truck curshed part of the exhaust piping. But I see your point. I'll stick with what I have for now.
